Highworth Town v Wanborough 0-2

30/10/11:

A hard fought match on both sides with some excellent performances all round leading to a 2 goal win by Wanborough thanks to goals from Tom Moore and Liam O'Reilly.

The pleasing thing from Wanborough’s point of view was how the team pulled together with the goals being the result of excellent and unselfish passing from three or four players that led to the goals. Will Bowley excelled in defence and was this week’s Captain and our coaches Man of the Match and he was well matched in defence with Christian Pau who made some strong blocks. Jake Hammond (Captain's Man of the Match) defended well and cleared the ball safely on a number of occasions.

Will Sumner and Tom Moore worked midfield left and right very hard respectively and Jacob Chilcott and Liam attacked with Jacob close to goal scoring action and he took a pass from Will Sumner and then passed this on into Liam for his goal. Undoubtedly our brilliant goalie Joel Trojan deserved heaps of praise for confident and consistent goalkeeping and keeping a cool head when under pressure. Matthew Goldfinch was incredibly solid in defence and mid roles and again could have scored!

Highworth were unlucky not to score having a few shots just wide and other good shots saved by our goalie. Thanks to Highworth for a spirited and fair match.
